What UK Masons and French Marbriers Get from StoneCrest
Colour Consistency You Can Stake Your Reputation On
Two headstones from the same order looking different shades of black in the cemetery. That one problem ends client relationships. We prevent it by locking the exact quarry block reference at sample approval. Your entire order — upright tablets, lawn markers, base stones — sourced from that same block. Same shade. No cemetery surprises.
Six-Stage QC — Verified Before It Leaves Karnataka
Pre-production check. Random production inspection. In-line quality review. Final inspection. Third-party check on request. Logistics inspection before loading. Mirror polish quality verified against your approved sample. Pre-shipment photographs provided before the container departs India. What you approve in the sample is what arrives at your port.
Your Sizes. Your Specifications. Not Ours.
UK NAMM standard upright headstone dimensions in inches. French stèle, dalle, soubassement, and semelle dimensions in metric — to your exact concession measurements. We supply full polished slabs in 240×120cm standard format, or cut-to-size per your workshop requirements. You decide the format. We deliver to that spec.
Communication That Does Not Stop at the Invoice
Loading confirmation. Pre-shipment photographs. Post-arrival follow-up. You will always know where your order is and who is accountable for it. We do not disappear after payment. That is the standard — not something you have to ask for.
The Memorial Granite Specialist for UK and France
Most Indian granite exporters sell to everyone — architects, builders, hotel chains. We do not.
StoneCrest International supplies Absolute Black, Jet Black, and Tan Brown granite exclusively to the memorial and funerary monument industry in the United Kingdom and France. That means every part of how we work — the sizes we cut, the QC process we run, the documentation we provide — is built around what a UK monumental mason or French marbrier actually needs.
StoneCrest controls quality standards across dedicated specialist quarrying and processing partners in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The right facility for the right product, managed to one standard. No single point of supply failure. Built this way intentionally — not legacy-heavy, not dependent on one facility.
Colour consistency batch-to-batch. Block reference locked at sample approval. Engraving-ready mirror polish. Six-stage QC before dispatch. Pre-shipment photographs before your container moves. Full accountability after the invoice.
IEC registered. FIEO member. MCA registered. Karnataka-origin verified.
Why UK Monumental Masons and French Marbriers Source Granite from StoneCrest
- Karnataka-Origin Absolute Black — The Memorial Industry Standard: Absolute Black granite at commercial export scale comes from one place: Karnataka, South India. UK cemeteries have relied on it since the 1980s. French marbriers specify it as Noir Absolu. There is no substitute at volume. We source directly from Karnataka's quarrying belt — verified origin on every shipment, not a claim we make on a brochure.
- Block Reference Locking — The Technical Answer to Colour Variation: Natural granite varies block by block, even within the same quarry. The way to guarantee colour consistency is to lock the specific block reference at sample approval and source the entire order from that block. That is what we do — as standard. Not on request. Not for premium orders only. Every time.
- Engraving-Ready Mirror Polish — Tested, Not Assumed: Mirror polish quality is verified against your approved sample before the container moves. Not just "polished" — verified to match. The surface finish matters for laser engraving clarity and sandblast lettering contrast. We check it. You see the pre-shipment photographs before anything ships.
- UK NAMM and French Metric — We Know Your Market's Specifications: Standard UK upright headstone blank: 24"×18"×4". Cremation tablet: 24"×12"×2". Companion: 36"×18"×4". French stèle: 60–100cm × 40–70cm × 80–100mm minimum. French dalle: 800×1550mm or 1000×2000mm. We did not guess these dimensions. These are the sizes memorial manufacturers in UK and France actually work with. We cut to them.
- Sample Before Any Container Commitment: A small polished granite slab — approximately 20×20cm to 30×30cm — is available before any container order. It is free of charge. You cover only the shipping cost (approximately USD 15–25 via FedEx or DHL to your location). Hold it. Check the colour. Test the polish under engraving. Then decide. A sample in your hands is worth more than a hundred product photos.
- Fully Certified Indian Granite Exporter: IEC (Import Export Code) registered. FIEO member. MCA registered. These are not decorative — they mean you are dealing with a compliant, documented Indian exporter. All standard export documentation provided: material test certificates, certificate of origin, packing list, phytosanitary certificate. Third-party pre-shipment inspection available on request.
- Communication Before, During, and After Every Shipment: Pre-shipment photographs. Loading confirmation when the container is sealed. Post-arrival follow-up once it reaches your port. You will not be chasing us for updates. We send them proactively. This is what accountability looks like in practice — not a promise on a website, but a documented process for every order.

Absolute Black Granite Slabs
The number one memorial granite colour in UK and France. Deep, uniform jet black. Zero visible tonal variation in premium grade. Mirror-polished to an engraving-ready high-gloss finish.
Sourced from Karnataka’s quarrying belt — the only region in the world producing Absolute Black at commercial export scale. Available as full polished slabs or cut to your NAMM headstone specifications.
Jet Black Granite Slabs
Same Karnataka origin as Absolute Black. Premium grade — consistent deep black across the entire slab face. Mirror polish gives a glass-like reflective surface ideal for laser engraving and sandblast lettering.
Supplied as full polished slabs in 240×120cm standard format or cut-to-size per your workshop dimensions.
Tan Brown Granite Slabs
Warm brown base with black, grey, and burgundy mineral crystals. Mirror polish reveals the full depth and richness of the stone — a quality not visible in rough form.
Widely used across UK and European memorial markets as a premium alternative to black granite. Sourced from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, South India.

Who We Supply — The UK and France Memorial Industry
We do not supply architects, builders, or interior designers. Our buyers fabricate and install cemetery memorials. If that is your business, you are in the right place.

UK Monumental Masons
Independent memorial stone workshops across England, Scotland, and Wales. Family businesses supplying headstones to funeral directors and families. NAMM and BRAMM accredited. You buy polished granite slabs, cut them to headstone dimensions in your workshop, engrave them locally, and install at the cemetery. We supply the granite that makes your finished headstone look consistent — and keeps your reputation intact.

UK Memorial Granite Wholesalers
Companies importing granite slabs directly from India and supplying networks of UK masons. A bad batch from your supplier affects every mason you supply — not just one. We supply container-level colour consistency with block reference locking. Your customers get the same shade order after order. Your reputation with your network stays intact.

French Marbriers Funéraires
Artisan funeral stone masons fabricating stèles, dalles, soubassements, and complete monument sets for installation in French cemeteries. The stèle, the dalle, and the soubassement all visible in the cemetery. All must match. We cut every component of a monument from the same block and the same polishing run. Colour uniformity guaranteed — for the family, for the cemetery, for your reputation. Nous fournissons également en français — contactez-nous directement.

French Grossistes Funéraires
Regional wholesale distributors supplying networks of French marbriers funéraires. One grossiste relationship supplies thirty to one hundred marbriers. That is the scale of responsibility on both sides. We supply volume-consistent Noir Absolu to the exact colour standard your marbrier network already specifies — with FCL capability and a documented QC process.

Frequently Asked Questions — Sourcing Memorial Granite from India
How do you guarantee colour consistency for headstones and monument pieces?
At sample approval, we lock the exact quarry block reference for your order. Your entire shipment — whether it is twenty upright headstones or a full stèle, dalle, and soubassement set — is sourced from that same quarry block. Same block. Same shade. Same polishing run.
This is not an optional service. It is our standard process on every order. The block reference locking method is the specific technical answer to the most common problem UK masons and French marbriers experience with Indian granite suppliers. Two headstones from the same order should never look different shades of black in the cemetery. With block reference locking, they will not.
Can you supply granite slabs to UK NAMM and BRAMM headstone specifications?
Yes. We supply Absolute Black and Jet Black granite in 240×120cm standard polished format and cut-to-size headstone blanks to your NAMM dimensions.
Standard sizes we supply regularly:
– Single upright: 24″×18″×4″ (610×457×102mm)
– Larger single: 30″×18″×4″ (762×457×102mm)
– Companion: 36″×18″×4″ (914×457×102mm)
– Cremation tablet / lawn marker: 24″×12″×2″ (610×305×51mm)
– Ledger slab: 900×600mm, 900×864mm — 76–152mm thickness
Custom NAMM dimensions available on request. Send us your workshop specifications and we confirm supply and lead time.
What are minimum order quantities for bulk natural stone export?
For granite and marble slabs, our typical minimum order is one 20-foot container (approximately 300-350 square meters). For vitrified tiles, we accommodate orders starting from 1000 square meters. We also provide LCL (Less than Container Load) options for sample orders and smaller construction projects with adjusted pricing structures.
Can you cut granite to French monument specifications — stèles, dalles, soubassements?
Yes. French marbriers send us their concession dimensions and we cut to spec. Every piece of a monument — stèle, dalle, soubassement, plinthes, semelles — is cut from the same block and the same polishing run to guarantee colour uniformity across the assembled monument.
Standard French dimensions we supply:
– Stèle: hauteur 60–100cm × largeur 40–70cm × épaisseur 80–100mm minimum
– Grande stèle: up to 85–92cm × 85–92cm × épaisseur 80–100mm
– Dalle / tombale: 800×1550mm or 1000×2000mm — épaisseur 5/7 to 8/10cm
– Soubassements and semelles: cut-to-size per concession
Can I request a granite sample before ordering a full container?
Yes. We offer a small polished granite sample — approximately 20×20cm to 30×30cm — at no charge. You cover only the shipping cost, which is approximately USD 15–25 via FedEx or DHL to your location.
The sample is the same grade and polish as your production order — not a showroom piece. Evaluate the colour, check the mirror finish, test it under engraving or sandblasting in your own workshop. Then decide.
This is how we prefer to start every new relationship. A sample in your hands is worth more than anything we can say on a website.
What is the minimum order quantity for granite slabs from StoneCrest?
One 20ft or 40ft FCL (full container load). There is no minimum for samples. Larger container orders are welcome and volume pricing is discussed per order.
A standard 20ft container holds approximately 18–22 tonnes of polished granite slabs depending on thickness. A 40ft container holds approximately 22–26 tonnes. We will confirm exact quantities based on your slab thickness and size specifications at enquiry stage.
Can you match the Absolute Black shade I currently source from another supplier?
Yes. Send us a sample piece of your current colour standard — a slab offcut or sample piece is sufficient. Our sourcing team selects quarry blocks to match your approved colour reference before confirming any production order.
You do not have to trust our description of the colour. You trust your own eyes. This removes the switching risk entirely.
What export certifications does StoneCrest International have?
StoneCrest International holds:
– IEC — Import Export Code, registered with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, India
– FIEO — Federation of Indian Export Organisations, member
– MCA— Registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India
Standard export documentation provided with every shipment: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, material test certificate, phytosanitary certificate. Third-party pre-shipment inspection arranged on request.
Why does Absolute Black granite colour vary between orders — and how do you prevent it?
Absolute Black granite is a natural stone. Even within the same quarry, different blocks can have subtle tonal differences — one block may have a cooler undertone, another warmer. This is why colour variation between batches happens: different blocks were used for different orders.
The solution is block reference locking. At your sample approval, we record the specific quarry block reference your sample came from. Your production order is then sourced exclusively from that block. This is the technical reason our customers do not experience shade variation between batches. The block does not change unless you approve a new reference.
